Cassava cake

This sweet tasting and creamy delicacy made from grated cassava is a Filipino food that can be enjoyed during snack time or as a dessert after a light meal.

  • 3 cups grated cassava
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 2 whisked eggs

For the liquid mixture:

  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp margarine
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk


  • Wash your hands and prepare your ingredients and materials to save time and effort and to ensure a clean and safe food preparation.
  • Preheat the oven for 10 minutes at 160’c.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the grated cassava, 1/2 cup condensed milk, 1/2 cup evaporated milk, 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup white sugar, 1/2 cup coconut milk and 2 whisked eggs.
  • Pour the batter in a non-stick baking pan, then bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  • While waiting, mix the ingredients for the toppings: 2 tbsp margarine, 2 tbsp flour, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1/2 cup condensed milk, 2 tbsp cheddar cheese, and 1/2 cup coconut milk.
  • Pour the mixture on top of the baked cassava.
  • Bake for another 20 minutes.
  • Your simple and easy to make cassava cake is now ready to serve, enjoy!
